Liberation Day Guernsey 2011

Liberation Day Guernsey 2011, is a Guernsey Bank Holiday falling on May 9, which in 2011 is on a Monday.

Once again, Liberation Day Guernsey 2011 Itinerary will feature 'Guernsey Salsa Dancing' with Heidi Almonte as part of the dance entertainment, aswell as 'Peridot' - a UK Dance Boy Band from Britains Got Talent 2009 and 2010!

Guernsey Liberation Day celebrates the Freedom of Guernsey in 1945, after being occupied by Germans for 5 years during World War 11 - by lots of entertainment on the Guernsey Town Seafront - Fun for all the family to enjoy!

The Liberation Day Guernsey 2011 Itinerary for Dancing is as follows...

12 noon -  Guernsey Majorettes

12.30pm - Guernsey Salsa Dancing with Heidi Almonte
1.00pm - Samba Burros Band
2.00pm - Mass Dance Off –  followed by Peridot UK Boy Dance Band
2.20pm - Jitterbugz Dance shows
2.30pm - Zumba Dancing with Debbie Duport
3.00pm - Samba Burros Band
3.30pm - Jitterbugz Dance shows
4.00pm - Guernsey Cheerleaders & Diamond Elite
4.30pm - B-Creative (Street Dancing)
4.45pm - Peridot UK Boy Dance Band
4.55pm - Mass Dance Off

Open from noon until 5pm,  also included in the Guernsey Liberation Day 2011 Itinerary featuring the Guernsey Concert Brass, The Glenn Miller Sounds of The Elastic Band and finishing with the popular Guernsey girl band 'The Blondettes' from 4-5pm.

Childrens Liberation Day Guernsey 2011 Activities

Childrens Liberation Day activites and a variety of stalls and entertainment start at 10am on the Crown Pier, and in 2011 will include a Free Fairground ride on a Victorian Horse Carousel with donations to St Johns Ambulance.

Liberation Day Guernsey 2011 will also see many forms of entertainment

As usual Liberation Day 2011 will see a huge variety of dance shows, side stalls, Guernsey Boat Show, Guernsey Squadron 201, Guernsey Military Vehicle and Guernsey Old Car Club Parade, live Bands, Singers plus a grand firework finale over Castle Cornet at approx 10pm.

Liberation Day Guernsey 2011 Parades

Liberation Day Guernsey Itinerary 2011 starts at 9.30am with a parade of Guernsey Squadron 201 representing 'Freedom of Guernsey'.
It commences  from Elizabeth College, to St. James’ Street, down Smith
Street, through the High Street, onto the Town Church and the seafront to the Weighbridge Roundabout arriving approx 10am when 75 members of 201 Guernsey Squadron will meet up.  The Itinerary then includes another Parade led by the Guernsey Concert Brass continuing at 10.05am from the Weighbridge to The Town Church.

Liberation Day Guernsey 2011 Food
Delicious Sri Lankan food will be served by The Guernsey Town Church in aid of Bridge2SriLanka and Haiti from 12-5pm.
